Start with a low dose and increase gradually as needed and tolerated. Amitriptyline can be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets. Pack size: 30 tablets Active ingredient: Amitriptyline hydrochloride Dosage: The usual starting dose for adts is 25-50 mg per day. The dose may be increased gradually to a maximum of 300 mg per day. For children over 6 years of age, the usual starting dose is 10-25 mg per day. The dose may be increased gradually to a maximum of 100 mg per day.
